The color penetration test (also called red-white penetration test or red-white method) is the most common penetration test method because it is very easy and universal to use.

A test system family consists of 3 components:

Pre and intermediate cleaner
Dye penetrant and
developer

Alternatively, the water-washable test equipment (method A) can also be washed off with water.

Red color penetrants (type II according to DIN / EN / ISO 3452-2, AMS 2644) are offered in two sensitivity levels according to German and American standards.

Level 1: normal sensitivity
Level 2: highly sensitive
